Helen Holcomb is AV Rated, the top ranking in both professional ability and ethics, by Martindale Hubbell Legal Directory, the preeminent nationally-recognized authority.  Helen Holcomb listens to her client’s needs and resolves their problems whether by negotiation or trial.

Helen's practice focuses primarily on family law, and she also maintains a civil litigation practice, which concentrates on contract formation and litigation, as well as personal injury actions.  Her skill as a trial attorney delivers results – in the year 2000, Helen had the highest jury verdict in Massachusetts, $27.5 million in a wrongful death case brought against the MBTA.  She also has been co-counsel in a number of successfully-defended first degree murder cases.

Helen’s skill as a negotiator is without equal, which has prompted lawyers with whom she has negotiated in earlier cases to later refer her their own cases in need of her abilities.  She uses her negotiating strengths to seek a fair and favorable resolution for her clients, often eliminating or reducing the time and expense of litigation.  Helen brings this same approach to contract formation and pre-nuptial agreements, to reach a comprehensive, clear resolution, and thereby to avoid later litigation.

Prior to commencing her legal career, Attorney Holcomb honed her organizational and negotiating skills as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Joseph R. Loring & Associates in New York, the world renowned consulting engineering firm which has provided expertise to such diverse projects as construction of the World Trade Towers, the design of the new Federal Parliament in Canberra, Australia, and the rehab of the United Sates Supreme Court building to bring it into the 21st century.
